FAQs – Van Security & Lock Fitting

Q. Will one key work for all of my van locks?

A. Yes. We can supply and fit multiple deadlocks, hook locks, and slam locks that all operate from the same key. These usually come with three keys supplied as standard.
You will also receive a key card containing your unique key number. This card makes it easy to order spare keys in the future.
Important: Keep your key card in a safe place—not inside the van.

Q. Do we have to come to you for van security installs?

A. We are fully mobile.
Our mobile fitting units are equipped with their own power supply, allowing us to carry out work at your home, workplace, or customers site with no downtime for you.
We simply need to park next to or back-to-back with your van in a safe area away from main roads.

Q. What types of van locks do you install?

A. We install a wide range of security locks, including deadlocks, slam locks, hook locks, replacement latches, latch shields, anti-peel kits, loom guards, OBD port protection and more. We can recommend the best option based on your van model and usage

Q. Why should I upgrade my van locks?

A. Factory-fitted locks are often not strong enough to deter professional thieves. Upgraded locks add an extra layer of security that significantly reduces the risk of break-ins and protects your tools, equipment, and vehicle.

Q. How long does it take to fit the van locks?

A. Each deadlock or hook lock installation takes around 30-45 minutes, depending on the make and model of the van. Latch protection plates take a similar amount of time.

Q. Do you use rust protection when fitting the van locks?

A. Yes. We use sealants, automotive paints or wax oil depending on the install.

Q. How do you take payment for van locks?

A. We accept the following payment methods:

  • Card payment on site via our mobile chip-and-pin machines
  • Payment links sent directly to a third party if someone else is paying
  • Bank transfer

Payment must be made before we leave site, unless you have an approved account with us.
A VAT invoice can be written out and issued while we are on site.

Q. Will installing additional van locks void my vehicle warranty?

A. No. Professional lock fitting will not affect your manufacturer’s warranty as long as installation is carried out correctly by a qualified engineer. Always check with your lease company.

Q. Can you install van locks on any make or model?

A. Yes. We work with all major brands including Ford, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Renault, Peugeot, Vauxhall, Citroën, and more.

Q. Is there a guarantee on the van locks and security devices you fit?

A. Yes. All locks come with a 24-month warranty covering normal working operation.
Please note:

  • Warranty does not cover damage caused by attacks, attempted theft, or misuse.
  • We supply a can of PTFE lock lubricant with every installation.
  • Monthly lubrication of the lock cylinder is essential.
  • Keys must be kept clean and free from debris.
  • Replace worn or damaged keys as needed to prevent lock issues.
Q. I purchased a van with extra locks but have no keys for them. Can you make keys for these locks?

A. We can replace most aftermarket van lock cylinders.
We carry a wide range of cylinders on our vehicles and can build the locks on your doorstep.
You will be supplied with 2–3 new keys and a new key card.

Q. Do you cut car keys?

A. We do not cut car, van, or ignition keys.
We only fit aftermarket mechanical security locks to commercial vehicles.
We can only cut extra keys for the van locks that we supply and fit.
